Artist Statement

I am a visual artist and published poet. I am State President of the Fellowship of Australian Writers and a member of The Tasmanian Writers Centre.

The Works   Are a definite challenge! Totally hand crafted by impressing lace into paper and hand colouring with watercolour, there is no digital enhancement. The method I use allows similar but not identical copies, each work is a monoprint, each special in its own way. My lacy prints involve a long, often frustrating yet totally rewarding process.

The Prints   

Lost Shoe:   People who fly have been a part of my personal mythology since early childhood. Now they live through my artworks. 

A fall of red and A fall of pink:  Sometimes it seems that people clothe us in colours and fabrics not of our own choosing as if we were store mannequins. They can never touch the wings of our spirit.

I hope you have time to linger, time to enjoy our exhibition.
