Artist Statement
Ephemeral by both name and nature, the
littoral zone is that coastal location which is covered by the high tide and
exposed by the low. This zone is the one which is the most abundant on any
shoreline being uniquely defined by a complex diversity of life. Images in
these paintings represent this plethora of life; and just as each person may
experience the littoral zone in there own way the abstract patterns give
permission for the viewer to experience the paintings in a similar manner.
The feminine outline in the paintings
also mirror the transient nature of the cycles of the tides and the artist's
connection to this zone. From the high tide to low, from movement to stillness,
from darkness to light and from life to death, just as these cycles never end,
all these dualities are abundant in the littoral zone.

help to create paintings of exotic beauty. With painterly exuberance she produces
images that will brighten any space.
