About the artist:
I strive to capture the essence of a cat's personality in my quirky cat drawings. My work is mainly based on humorous poses that every cat owner can relate to. The composition is vital to the success of the image, and also the layering of the pastel to give intense colour to the background and texture to the fur. I also like to inject pattern in to segments of the design on rugs, cushions or drapery to add interest and as a juxtaposition to the shape of the cat.
I work from dark to light, usually starting my drawing on black pastel paper. 

Inspiration usually comes from my two black cats, however friends are always
sending me photos of their fur children and sometimes they may end up in one
of my drawings.
